School Uniform

The school believes, in line with the DfE, that a school uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of a school and setting an appropriate tone. Wearing uniform:
promotes a sense of pride in our school
helps to create a sense of community and belonging
supports our commitment to inclusion
is practical, affordable and smart
Below you will find details of our school uniform:
Grey or red jumper (school logo optional)
White, red or grey polo, t-shirt or shirt
Grey trousers, shorts or skirt (must be "schoolwear")
Red checked summer dress • Red or grey shalwar kameez
All black shoes or trainers
For PE pupils are required to wear:
Dark shorts/joggers and a plain white t-shirt
Pumps or trainers
School jumper
For health and safety reasons, pupils are not allowed to wear:
Jewellery, except for small stud earring and a watch (must be removed for PE and swimming – children should be able to do this themselves)
High heeled or ‘roller’ shoes
Smart watches
The Governing Body accepts no responsibility for any injury, which may result from the wearing of earrings or for any items of jewellery which may be lost or damaged in school.

Uniform Exchange
At Burley we run a uniform exchange, for families to either donate their used uniform or take whatever they need. It saves money - and the planet! The uniform exchange is always open - pop in and ask at the office, or if you are looking for specific items, leave the details with us and we will try to put together a bag of uniform for you. If you are struggling with uniform please don't hesitate to reach out to our pastoral team, there is always something we can do to help.
